After creating an e-mail account in Gmail, you can use it to send and receive e-mails. All the received e-mails are contained in Inbox. Remember, to use the e-mail account anytime, you must login using your e-mail id/username and password. The sign in system of different e-mail providers may differ. The Sign in window of Gmail is displayed in Figure 2.1.
When you sign in your account, a new e-mail interface window will appear on the screen as shown in Figure 2.4. The Gmail account has the following options:
From: This field contains the e-mail address of the sender of the mail.
To: You need to enter the recipient's address in the To field before you compose the body of the e-mail. An example of an e-mail address is, aaryan.nanda@gmail.com.
Cc: When sending a message to multiple recipients, use the Cc (Carbon copy) field. The e-mail addresses mentioned in this field are visible to all the recipients of the mail.
Bcc: It is also used to send a copy of the mail to several recipients. However, choose the Bcc if you do not want to expose your contacts' e-mail addresses to the main recipient. This way the addresses of the other recipients mentioned in that field will not be shown. It is therefore called Blind Carbon Copy.
Subject Line: The subject line is the first parts of your e-mail that the recipient will see. When entering the subject line, but sure to include important information which depicts what the e-mail is about. If you are too vague or do not include any subject line at all, your message could be mistaken for spam and deleted without ever being read.
