Digital india is an intiative launched by the government of India on 1 july,2015 by the honourable Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi.The vision of Digital India is to bring India at par with the developed nations in the field of technology and provide online services to the citizens.

The major services provided by Digital India Movement have been clubbed in a mobile application,UMANG(unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance).It is a free mobile application launched by the government of india providing services like-

Expanded Reach of Government:

With enhanced availability of the internet services in the country,more and more people can now connect to the government portals available online.

Increased Conveniance:

With the increased popularity and accessibility of online government portals,services like applying for a passport,a license,and documentation related to property,etc,.have become convinient to access.

High Transparency:

E-governance has increased transparency in the internal government processes.Now the citizens can quickly get the information about the services for which they may have applied,hence reducing the gap between the citizens and the government.

Reduced Corruption:

Barrage of bureaucratic hurdles and inadequate mechanisms of complaint handling can lead to corruption.E-governance makes all bureautic processes transparent and clear which helps to de-escalate the problem of corruption.
